AUTO BODY SHOP MARKETING (4 MUST-SEE IDEAS)

8/21/2018

Some marketing and lead generation tips for body shops are simply ideas but these four actions are absolute requirements to thrive. The direction of successful establishments in our industry must align with the trends our customers are taking. With so many resources available today, having no time or no money is no longer a valid excuse...

#1 - BRANDING: CREATE & MANAGE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

A digital imprint is extremely important. Hundreds of millions of people are on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. They also tend to follow a lot of the same companies their friends are following. Making and managing your social media will definitely boost your business and give you an edge over your competitors.

If you’re not computer savvy, just hire a company like Spacetwin to build and manage the accounts for your business. I’ve had great success using them for my body shops.  It is a great form of marketing that doesn’t cost a ton of money.

#2 - online home: professional web design

I cannot believe how many auto body shops fail to have a proper website made. This is extremely devastating to a business for a potential customer.  That is the first place a potential customer is going to look to see what type of shop you are. And if your site is not well built then those potential customers are not going to be confident in your body shop for auto repairs.

I also use Spacetwin to make websites for my body shops and businesses but it doesn’t have to be them. Use anyone you trust to get online. The importance of looking professional online increases by the day.

#3 - TESTIMONIALS: WORD OF MOUTH IS VITAL TO SUCCESS.

All you have to do is email your customers a link to your Yelp and/or Facebook reviews and have them post a positive comment on you page.  It’s simple and costs nothing.  But the marketing impact is greater than anything out there.  Word of mouth referrals are the most trusted type of advertising you could possibly get for your business.

#4 - EMAIL AUTOMATION: KEEP IN TOUCH WITH CUSTOMERS!

Sending an email once every two months to your customers will be the key to your survival. Customers on average get into an accident every 3 to 4 years. It is well known that customers tend to forget your name with in 1 to 2 months and withn 6 months they will forget the name of your shop. And within 1 to 2 years they will forget where your shop is located. You do not want them searching for other shops online, even if it is to try to find you. The best way stay in their memory is email marketing.

For this I use AWeber. This automatic system will do all of the work for you. They send an email to your customers every 2-3 months on your behalf (or whatever frequency/time frame you choose). Some good messages to send out might include safety tips, coupons, promotions, or basically anything at all to keep them from completely forgetting that your are there for them. This has worked very well for me and my email list is not as huge as you might think. Take these actions today and you will be very happy you did.
